It's quite helpful information, in terms of understanding the psychology of 'leftists' - which I didn't specifically break down for myself, as you've done here.
I didn't actually connect the part where you could identify a psychological trait, like self hatred or guilt, as being uniform in these peoples personalities.
I may have actually assumed nearly the opposite - where they were too narcissistic, and every virtue signal was just to prop up their inflated ego, without them thinking too much about the value or substance of their position, or analysing whatever the current object of virtue signal is.
The group think is fairly obvious to an analytical observer, and could be assumed to be a factor in their blindness to a logical reality.
The thing about that is, realising how many people in general are actually like that, whether one could class them as a leftist or not - they will easily be 'radicalised'!
As you have described it - it's like a disease. And we're looking at a real pandemic here!
As a (possibly) interesting aside - there's an album called 'Leftism' by 'Leftfield'.
It was released in 1995 - I used to listen to it a lot when I was younger.
I haven't listened to it in a while, though I remember it as being a really well made piece of work.
I wonder if there is something in that, that I missed in my youth. Possibly some subtle subconscious suggestion.
I don't think there is anything specific that I can remember in any of the tracks being overtly political in that way you might expect from an album, and artists, of such titles.
The cover of the album though, is an eye, composed of the skeletal jaws of a shark, with a speaker/woofer as the pupil.
