I'm English and I've never heard the phrase "foggy Albion". It sounds comfortingly romantic and Victorian; Dickensian London or Sherlock Holmes striding around Dartmoor.
I recently heard Andrew Huberman reference Paul Conti's concept that the subconscious mind is actually a supercomputer, and that only a small % of the population are concerned with trying to understand their own subconscious mind and maybe change or influence it. I'm not too familiar with Paul Conti's work but I know he and Andrew Huberman did a 4 part series on Youtube that may discuss it further and how like self-reflection or self-therapy can help access it. Andrew said that Paul's theory goes against what most scientists/researchers say about how the the subconscious mind is largely unaccessible or something. I just thought this was worth mentioning. peace
