I notice in the UK propaganda is a notch above the rest as the wider population is convinced that propaganda is what other countries do and we’re immune to it. Like you say being bilingual opens up one’s worldview.
I have Jacques's The Technological System (hardback) and I do at times have to re-read certain paragraphs or lines a couple of times to grasp what he is saying. It is perhaps the translator's shortcomings, the language it is translated to, or it is just my lack of understanding. 😅
