Peace Sam,

One of my favorite quotes from 1984 is how Orwell describes Parsons.

“Parsons was a colleague of Winston's in the Ministry of Truth. He was a plump but active man, paralyzing stupidity, a heap of imbecile enthusiasm, one of those devout slaves who question nothing and on whom, more than on the Thought Police, rested stability of the party.”

Working in a few big organizations I certainly have come across a few characters like Parsons.

Absolutely. These are the unremarkable people which grease the skids to the killing fields.

I suppose I should consider myself lucky to have only seen their absurdities not their atrocities so far.

On a separate note, I often wonder about why God decided to divide mankind into leaders and followers in order to test mankind? The former for the most part, after making a Faustian bargain with the devil and acquire temporal power, are able to keep the latter imprisoned in an inter-generational information matrix built on deception.

The bulk of humanity will come into this world and die not realizing that most of what they learned was nothing but propaganda and indoctrination. What chance do most have against these sort of sophisticated subversive techniques shaping minds incrementally in the desired direction over decades? It appears we are now in the exponential phase with children, with their parents unable to defend them, being the prime targets of this rapid degeneracy of humanity to unthinkable levels.

Honestly, I don't know how it works, only that it does: God guides whom he guides. It is something that I accept in the same way that I accept that God created cats different to dogs (for example).
